You have given me the confidence to feed our baby. Thank you. It has been a privilege to work with you and I feel so grateful for your support.

I could not recommend Alison more. She advised me before and after the birth, providing almost daily advice for the first six weeks (including weekends). She always made herself available and her support transformed a challenging time for me into a more positive experience. Uniquely among breastfeeding consultants, Alison provides ongoing advice rather than a one-off session. This gives the mother time to build up the skill and provides comfort in what can be a very emotional and isolating time. Alison’s advice would assist any mother, in particular first-time mothers or those who struggled first time around.

Alison was an absolute life saver. I contacted her at 2 in the morning 5 days postpartum in a real state as I couldn’t feed my baby... I was not in a good place. She responded to me by 9am and by 2pm we were on a FaceTime call. She provided me with very clear guidance and tangible advice about how to get my baby to latch and how to increase my milk supply. Four weeks later I am successfully and confidently breastfeeding my baby girl. I was really impressed by Alison’s responsiveness and her style. She really knows what she is talking about and was incredibly supportive. She made me feel like my troubles and concerns were completely normal and totally surmountable. I could ask her anything (about breastfeeding and beyond) and she continues to check in to see how we are getting on, always answering my questions and giving me helpful advice. I cannot recommend her enough to all breastfeeding mothers - you won’t regret it!

I contacted Alison when my baby was 5 weeks old. Feeding had been a challenge and painful from the beginning. After seeing other lactation consultants I was beginning to think feeding wasn’t possible for me without pain. Alison helped with multiple issues to get us to pain free feeding! Her approach is so supportive and we stayed in contact regularly by text and additional video calls over the following weeks to make sure things stayed on track. I’ve already recommended Alison to other mums looking for advice and I’m so appreciative that her help transformed feeding for us.

When I first contacted Alison, I had a serious oversupply of milk and was really close to giving up. I was determined to breastfeed but since this was my second baby and I had failed with the same problem with my first baby, I didn’t have much hope. I had spoken to various lactaction consultants and hadn’t managed to solve the problem. My baby wasn’t latching, I was pumping, everything was going wrong! I needed someone with enough knowledge to help me regulate my supply and help my baby latch. Within half an hour of contacting Alison, we were having our first video call! I felt confident that I could contact Alison at any time of the day and she would video call me within minutes. Alison supported me emotionally throughout our contact and offered me invaluable advice that I am so, so thankful for.

Two weeks later, I now have a regulated supply and a baby who is feeding confidently, both of which I thought would be impossible! I truly believe I wouldn’t have reached this stage without Alison’s support.

I couldn’t recommend The Latch more! Breastfeeding did not come naturally to me. In my experience, getting the hang of breastfeeding was harder than all my months of pregnancy and giving birth (36 hours!) I contacted Alison to help me; she answered all my questions, gave me really valuable information and actual tips and tricks that I could apply to my breastfeeding experience. She worked on a breastfeeding plan that suited my lifestyle (a mix of breastfeeding and pumping.) Alison is a book of knowledge when it comes to pregnancy, breastfeeding, postpartum bodies and babies. She quite literally made my breastfeeding experience possible and I look back on the experience with happiness.

I was recommended Alison by a friend, who couldn’t speak highly enough of the service, help and knowledge Alison provides. A sentiment I now wholeheartedly agree with. I couldn’t have been happier with the guidance and support I received. She was always available, accommodating and flexible to suit my needs. I was, in all honesty, not coping well and was desperate for help. One text, and a prompt response followed confirming a FaceTime consultation the next day. Alison has a reassuring, calming nature complemented by an authoritative, confident ability to teach and guide us through our challenges. She identified problem areas which no one else had, and provided workable solutions and techniques to solve them. Hands down Alison is the reason I am still breastfeeding my little man. I had almost given up. Alison gave me the tools and confidence to succeed and I couldn’t be more grateful. I highly recommend Alison she is a warm, welcoming professional lady.

My baby was born at 26 weeks and spent several weeks in hospital. She eventually came home weighing just 5lbs, and needing oxygen during breastfeeds. Alison gave invaluable help with breastfeeding and her calm, friendly yet highly efficient manner was therapeutic to us all during a difficult and stressful time. She was always ready to discuss any concerns (however small) that I might have, without ever making me feel that I was worrying about nothing.

Thank you so much for visiting yesterday. You provided just the right help at just the right time. My nipples are feeling so much better, and I feel much more confident about breastfeeding. The midwife came this morning and was delighted with us - she couldn’t believe the difference! Thanks so much for the advice, and for boosting my confidence with your support.

I would wholeheartedly recommend Alison’s expert help to anyone who is planning on breastfeeding. I and the majority of my new parent friends found the first few days and weeks of breastfeeding highly emotional and sometimes distressing. Alison’s clear and matter of fact help alleviated a lot of the stress and turned breastfeeding into a much more manageable and positive experience for me. She is extremely responsive, answering the multitude of questions I had, often during early mornings, evenings and weekends; this makes help feel very hands-on despite only being able to work together virtually. I can’t thank her enough. I only wish I had started to work with her before my baby was born!

Alison completely transformed my breastfeeding experience. I was recommended her advice at a time of crisis, close to giving up breastfeeding. She has been the most incredible support and transformed my experience into something enjoyable and special. If you have any troubles, concerns or questions about breastfeeding, I couldn’t recommend Alison more...so responsive (even at very short notice!) extensive knowledge and incredibly reassuring.

Thank you, thank you! All I can say is that over and above the absolutely excellent and professional service you provided, the TLC and special care saw me through those early days. I’ll never forget how wonderful you were to us. You made up for not having family!
— E.K
You have been a huge help to me and I can’t thank you enough. You walked me through the trickiest of times and taught me all sorts of tips and tricks - I will feel forever indebted to you!

Having my session with Alison was the best thing I could have done. Alison is incredibly calm, unbelievably experienced and a total breastfeeding guru. We spent a couple of hours together, where she taught me about the biology and history of breastfeeding, the full journey from first feed, the different positions and the latching technique as well as giving me advice on the different growth spurts, how to wind and details on expressing and bottle feeding as well as answering my hundred and one questions! I feel so much more knowledgable and can now go into labour feeling confident and calm knowing that Alison is in reach if I need some support or a refresher.

Having heard many of my friends struggle with this element of postnatal care, alongside the general adjustment to being a mum, permanently exhausted and on a hormone rollercoaster, I really wanted to understand the best ways to get it right from day 1 and feel less overwhelmed by the responsibility of breastfeeding. You explained the process so clearly and really helped me to practice and visualise the best ways of finding that ‘perfect latch’. I didn’t feel any pressure because of your genuine passion, experience and care for the mother & baby. Thank you for building my confidence at this stage, I feel excited and empowered now.
— V.W
Just a short note of thanks from grateful parents-to-be. We had already heard good things about you. The ante-natal preparation session exceeded our expectations; you are a naturally talented communicator and have given us a great deal of confidence and a very positive attitude to breastfeeding and bringing up our baby.
— M.R
I can’t thank you enough for all your help and support in the early days – you were an absolute star and so encouraging and full of useful tips and advice.

I was relieved to know that I would have Alison’s advice along my breastfeeding journey. She has a wealth of expert experience and helped guide me through the early days when I was establishing breastfeeding - when a mother needs help the most! Alison is really responsive, communicates frequently and always on hand for online support - whether through video or messages. I also found that she offered very practical, bespoke advice beyond breastfeeding and gave me emotional support. During the pandemic, her online consultation has proved invaluable. I would highly recommend working with Alison and booking her in while in the final weeks of pregnancy as she prepares you well for the coming weeks. I am now happy to say that my daughter and I have found a good rhythm and I now enjoy breastfeeding!

I really can’t recommend The Latch highly enough. I contacted Alison at 3 in the morning using her Crisis Consultation service as I was in despair at not being able to feed my 3 day old baby. She contacted me back extremely quickly the next day and guided us through a number of complex and difficult breast feeding issues for several weeks thereafter. Alison is highly experienced, knowledgeable and delivers her advice in a warm and supportive way. I was told by one GP that I might have to give up on breastfeeding due to the number and complexity of issues we were dealing with. We had tongue tie, latch issues, thrush, severe nipple trauma, blocked ducts, blebs, mastitis, undersupply… the list goes on!! But, Alison understood the importance of breastfeeding to me, especially after a long and difficult birth, and gave me information and support I needed as well as the confidence to persevere. Ultimately, Alison guided me and my baby through to successful and pain free breastfeeding within a matter of weeks!! Reflecting on where we were when I first called Alison, all the issues we have overcome, and where we are now is actually amazing!!! Now I find such joy in breastfeeding my baby and I’m so grateful that Alison was there to help us achieve this precious skill. I can’t thank Alison enough as we could not have done it without her.

Alison helped me hugely, enabling me to get off to the best start I could with feeding. She is always available for advice and clearly cares about her clients. Alison corrected my latch and breastfeed positioning in the first days of breastfeeding which resulted in an immediate relief of pain. I’d highly recommend her to anyone starting their journey with breastfeeding.
— EP
Alison was fantastic. She replied very quick to my desperate message and helped me so quick. Being a second time mum you think that you have everything figured out. Well, sometimes that’s not exactly it. And when I started struggling with my breastfeeding journey it was Alison that helped me to recover my confidence and breastfeed pain free.
